A WOMAN who harassed the family of a missing toddler is due to appear in court charged with breaching a restraining order.

Donna Wright, 33, of West Cornforth, in County Durham, was given a restraining order after harassing the Gosport family of Katrice Lee.

As previously reported, she pretended to be the missing girl, who vanished on her second birthday in Germany in 1981, and sent the family abusive Facebook messages.

She will appear at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on Friday after allegedly using a mobile phone to contact Katrice’s father Richie, of Hartlepool.

In March at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court, Wright was handed a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for 18 months, with supervision.

She was also ordered to pay £200 to Katrice’s sister Natasha and mum Sharon, both of Gosport.

The restraining order barred her from posting on ‘The Search for Katrice Lee’ Facebook page, changing her profile’s name on the site, along with more conditions relating to the site.

She was told not to contact Sharon, Natasha, Richard and two named friends, nor make public statements about the family or the friends.
