A WOMAN who was left with life threatening injuries following a hit and run accident is said to be ‘making good progress’.

The victim, thought to be in her 40s, was struck by a black Ford Fiesta outside The Festing pub in Festing Road at around 11pm on Saturday night..

She was taken to Queen Alexandra hospital in Cosham with multiple injuries and remains in hospital.

Police, who described their investigatiohn as a hit and run inquiry, said the driver of the car left the scene.

A 38-year-old man from Southsea was later arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident and has been bailed until February, 10 2014.
