A WOMAN has been punched in the face in an unprovoked attack.

The 32-year-old victim was in the street around Lynn Crescent and Louis Road in Titchfield Common at about 2.30am on Wednesday, September 7, when a car pulled up and the passenger got out.

He approached her and they exchanged a few words before he punched her in the face and returned to the vehicle, which drove away towards Hunts Pond Road. The woman received a black eye.

The assailant is described as white, late 30s, of athletic build with a shaven head. He wore a dark jacket with a hood and pocket on the front.

He was the passenger in a light blue or silver saloon car with a part registration ‘53’.

Police are appealing for witnesses or information leading to the identification of the attacker.

PC Philip Woodfield said: ‘A passer-by stopped to offer assistance to the woman after the assault. We would like this man to contact police, as he may have vital information.’
