A 42-YEAR-OLD woman was left shaken after she was shoved to the ground in an attempted robbery.

She was walking in Chichester, from Bognor Road into Florence Road, when she was pushed from behind making her fall to her knees.

As she fell one of the robbers involved in the incident snatched her rucksack from her back. The suspects then rifled through her bag before discarding it nearby.

Detective Sergeant Sally Arbuckle, from West Sussex CID, said: ‘Fortunately the woman was not seriously injured and none of her belongings was taken but nonetheless she is very shaken by the whole incident.

‘Due the victim being shoved from behind she did not get a good look at the suspects.

‘We only know there was about three men, white and in their 20s.’

Police are urging witnesses to the incident, which happened at 8.20pm on Tuesday, March 6, to come forward. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
