A WOMAN suffered a fractured skull after being punched by a man.

The attack happened in the afternoon outside the Job Centre in Arundel Street, Portsmouth.

The 55-year-old woman was approached by a man in his late teens or early 20s.

The woman said that the man punched her and she fell to the floor. She was taken to QA hospital where she was treated for a fractured skull, and is expected to make a full recovery.

The man was white, with dark hair and dark facial hair, and wore a black zip-up top with a large white logo on the back and a small white logo on the left chest area.

The victim said the man was walking with an older couple and younger teenagers or children who may have been his family. It happened between 2.20pm and 2.45pm on Sunday, March 15. Police released details on Wednesday.
