Yobs have slashed the tyres of dozens of cars parked in Southsea.
Residents of Festing Road and the adjoining Festing Grove woke today to find that their vehicles had been attacked overnight.
It is believed that vandals struck more than 40 cars parked along the roads.
Resident Jarrath Green, whose BMW was attacked, said: ‘I was supposed to be going to London today to see family for Christmas and now I will have to get the train.
‘There are people trying to get to work and they are just sat there trying to change their tyres.’
Residents informed police and an investigation is now being carried out.
Paul Hartley his wife Sheena, of Festing Road, were affected.
Mr Hartley said: ‘It’s caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to people’s cars.
‘It looks like someone had gone along the tyres with a stanley knife.’
Sergeant Allan Cameron, from the Eastney and Milton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: ‘Whoever is responsible for this mindless act of damage has not only impacted financially on their victims at an expensive time of year, but may have also stopped some of them being able to travel to visit love ones over this festive period.’
