THE Rowans Hospice celebrated the opening of its 10th charity shop yesterday.

The store in Lee-on-the-Solent was officially opened by Gosport’s mayor Cllr Chris Carter, the hospice’s chief executive Ruth White, trustees, staff and volunteers.

It is the first Rowans shop in Lee since one closed in 2007.

The organisation has been looking for a suitable site to house a new shop since its closure.

Sue Jones, the store’s manager, said: ‘I am really excited to be taking on the responsibility for the new shop in Lee and will be supported by a great team of volunteers.’
