Fareham Leisure Centre is holding a danceathon on Saturday to raise funds and awareness for Comic Relief.

The leisure centre, which is run by Everyone Active in partnership with Fareham Borough Council, will host a two-hour dance workout session from 11.30am until 1.30pm.

The fundraising event will include a mixture of dances styles and music – including traditional Latin American zumba sounds and the latest club beats – to provide a fun workout.

General manager Ryan Grant said: ‘Comic Relief works tirelessly to tackle poverty and social injustice in the UK and across the world.

‘As such we wanted to give something back and organise an event that got people moving and smiling whilst raising money for the cause.

‘The danceathon’s set to be a foot-tapping, hip-hopping event so please do get together with friends and family, join in and help us raise the roof as well as a lot of money.’

Fancy dress and red noses are encouraged. Members and non-members aged 14 and over are welcome.

It is free to take part with a collection for Comic Relief. For more details call 01329 226352.
