SAILORS from the Royal Navy took part in a fundraiser with a twist to see if they could survive 24 hours on a life raft.

Petty Officer Airman Ben Hall and Leading Airman Ashley Senior sat in a life raft, all day and night, secured to the Gosport Ferry’s pontoon.

They were raising money for Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and Bembridge Primary School. Petty Officer Hall said: ‘I’m doing this event in order to support two excellent causes.

‘The RNRMC is relatively well known and I chose to support the school because my four year-old daughter has just started there.’
