RESERVISTS could receive a decoration for their service under plans being considered by the Ministry of Defence.

The government is considering introducing the honour for all reservists serving 10 years or more to recognise their contribution to the armed
forces.

Defence secretary Michael Fallon said: ‘Reservists make a tremendous contribution to our national security.

‘Each is truly twice a citizen and it is right we publicly recognise this.’

There are numerous army and navy reserve bases in the Portsmouth area.
