CADETS raised hundreds of pounds for charity by holding a fundraising day.

The group of enthusiastic teenagers from 1350 Fareham and District Squadron Air Training Corps spent Saturday, September 20 in Fareham town centre.

The volunteers, who were all aged between 13 and 16 years old, were raising money for the Royal Air Forces Association’s Wings Appeal.

Lisa Hunt, civilian instructor, said the group collected around £800 for the appeal, which raises vital funds to support serving and ex-RAF personnel and their families.

Mrs Hunt said: ‘The cadets were so good as it was a long day, but because they were raising money for such a good charity people were so generous.’

She said the squadron, which is based in Titchfield, would be recruiting more cadets in January.
