AN 8,000-tonne section of the navy’s new aircraft carrier has been completed.

The construction is the first part to go into dry dock as HMS Queen Elizabeth is pieced together in Scotland.

The section built at BAE Systems shipyard in Govan, Glasgow, will be loaded on to a sea-going barge tomorrow.
