A COUNCIL has been busy cleaning up its war memorials ahead of Remembrance Sunday.

Workers have been jet washing the memorials in the Fareham borough in preparation for the day, which this year falls the day before Armistice Day on November 10.

A parade will be held on Sunday starting at Holy Trinity Church, West Street, at 10am and make its way through the town centre.

Elsewhere in the borough, hundreds are expected to attend the now traditional service in Portchester Precinct at 10.30am on the Saturday, November 9.

The Royal Armouries at Fort Nelson on Portsdown Hill will be firing guns at 11am and 1pm on Sunday and Monday.
