THE Royal Navy is helping to make sure the coast off Weymouth is safe during the Olympic sailing events.

The P2000 Fast Patrol boat – belonging to Portsmouth-based HMS Raider – has been a regular sight in the sea over the past few days.

Lieutenant Charles Collins, Commanding Officer of HMS Raider, said he’s been enjoying the unusual role that the Patrol Boat Squadron has undertaken for the Olympic Games.

He said: ‘It’s always good for us to work together across all the security agencies in support of one goal and this operation is a fine example of teamwork and co-operation between a large number of elements in a superb location.’
