A VETERANS’ parade will this year commemorate a key battle in the Korean War.

Each year the veterans’ parade – organised by Havant Borough Council and 47 Regiment, Thorney Island in Emsworth – attracts thousands of people.

Veterans of all conflicts have been invited to attend the event to be held on April 21 in St Peter’s Square.

But for Korean War veterans it will be a chance to mark the 60th anniversary of the Battle of the Imjin River.

Veterans will be presented with the Imjin River Rose.

Those taking part in the parade have been advised to arrive between 8am and 8.45am. Veterans and their partners are also invited to lunch at The Lord Raglan in East Street.

To take part, call Norman Davies on (023) 9259 8970 or email normandavies413@ btinternet.com with your name and unit.
