TWO men from Portsmouth believed to be the brothers of dead jihadi Ifthekar Jaman have been detained for another week after being arrested on suspicion of terror-related offences.
The two men, aged 23 and 26, believed to be Ifthekar’s brothers Mustakim Jaman and Tuhin, were arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism, along with a 23-year-old woman from Farnborough and a 29-year-old woman from Greenwich.
The arrests came after specialist officers swooped on the Jaman family home in Hudson Road, Somers Town, in a dawn raid, as part of warrants being executed across Hampshire and London.
A 57-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, believed to be Ifthekar’s parents Enu Miah and Hena Choudhury, were arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences, but have since been released on bail.
Officers were yesterday granted warrants of further detention for the brothers until October 28.
