DEFENCE minister Dr Andrew Murrison spent time watching army officer cadets training.

Dr Murrison visited the Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities Officer Training Corps, where he met soldiers including Officer Cadet Robert Abernethy, 20, from Portsmouth.

He watched the officer cadets training in fieldcraft, tactics, planning, and decision making, and spoke to them about their experiences.

Dr Murrison said: ‘I have been very impressed by what I have seen here – the commitment of the staff and the dedication of the officer cadets.’
