PHOTOGRAPHS of soldiers’ headstones and memorials will be on show throughout Remembrance Week at a shopping centre.

The exhibit ‘The Lost Sons of Fareham’ features the work of photographer, Innes Marlow, and will be on show at Fareham Shopping Centre.

Mr Marlow has spent the last year researching servicemen who left their homes in Fareham during the First World War but never returned.

His work took him to France and Belgium where he captured images of graves and of those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Innes said: ‘It’s difficult to comprehend how many were lost in the conflict, hopefully these photos remembering local men will highlight some of the stories behind the names, and men that those who acted with such bravery.’

Council leader Seán Woodward commissioned the exhibit as part of the centenary events that took place earlier this year in Fareham.

The exhibition is outside Debenhams, in Fareham Shopping Centre, from Monday until November 12.
