TV COOK Nigel Slater went on board HMS Victory as part of a programme exploring the origins of British biscuits.

The celebrity chef was looking at the history of British biscuits for a BBC documentary aired earlier this month.

The TV show, Nigel Slater and the Great British Biscuit, is one of several programmes to be filmed at Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard recently.

There was also Shipwrecks: Britain’s Sunken History, and Heston Blumenthal’s Great British Food.

A dockyard spokeswoman said: ‘We have had a TV bonanza. We’re the place to come for some wonderful filming opportunities.

‘It’s worth noting that we’ve had some fantastic documentaries here.’
