One of the Royal Navy’s former destroyers will leave Portsmouth for scrap tomorrow.

The former HMS Liverpool is heading for Turkey where she will be cut up for scrap.

As reported in The News, Liverpool was sold alongside the former HMS Manchester for an undisclosed sum.

A further three Type 42 destroyers are currently laid up in Portsmouth awaiting disposal.

Liverpool is expected to be towed from the harbour tomorrow at around 11.30am, but the operation is dependant on the weather.
