THE mayor of Havant will be one of the first people in the borough to wear a poppy this year for the Remembrance services.

Havant’s Poppy Appeal will be launched at Tesco in Solent Road next Saturday.

Cllr Leah Turner is attending from 11am to midday and it is hoped local cadets will also be there.

The appeal is being overseen by Olive Rush, from Havant British Legion.
