TWO talks next week will lift the lid on the history of two military sites in Gosport.

On Thursday, April 18 at 7pm, the history of Fort Blockhouse will be revealed at a talk at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Haslar Road, Gosport.

The talk will be given by Chris Donnithorne, a local historian and former submariner staff officer to operations.

The historian was based at HMS Dolphin at Fort Blockhouse between 1983 and 1987.

The talk will focus on the pre-20th century period at Fort Blockhouse.

Then on Saturday, April 20, tours of HMS Sultan will show the public Fort Rowner, the Fleet Air Arm aircraft hangar and the Marine Engineering Museum.

Book tickets for both on (023) 9254 5036.
