HUNDREDS of pounds has been raised by a group of sailors from HMS Collingwood who took on the Great South Run.

The sailors from Victory Squadron raised around £900 for Seafarers UK.

The group, consisting of the Officer in Charge, Lieutenant Commander Joe Wood, Sub Lieutenant, Leading Hand and four Able Seamen, chose Seafarers UK because of the great work it does for RN personnel that have fallen on hard times.

Lt-Cdr Joe Wood said: ‘I’m very proud of the Victory Squadron sailors. They are all undergoing intensive professional training so I was particularly pleased to have volunteers prepared to demonstrate extra determination.’
