THE Royal Marines School of Music band will march into Guildhall Square on Friday afternoon ahead of their annual graduation concert in Portsmouth.

The concert, from 2pm inside the Guildhall, will feature the talents of around 75 trainees who have recently finished the musicians training course.

At 5pm the band will march out again in a public beating retreat performance.

Portsmouth’s Lord Mayor, Cllr Frank Jonas, who will be at the concert, said: ‘It’s fantastic to see such talent in our city.

‘The Royal Marines have such a unique sound, and to see so many trainees graduate and share their skills is so inspirational to the young people of Portsmouth. I encourage everyone to come along and join in the celebrations.’

Concert tickets are available from the Guildhall box office at £10 each, or £8 for concessions.
