DIVERS on board Portsmouth-based HMS Quorn are preparing for a major minehunting exercise.

The eight-strong team will be joined by other divers, warships and aircraft from 20 nations for International Mine Countermeasures Exercise 13.

The two-week exercise is aimed at drawing navies together to show how they can effectively deal with the threat of mines and keep the sea lanes open.

The Royal Navy maintains a permanent minehunting force in the Gulf.
