NAVAL base HMS Collingwood paid host to a visit from Fareham MP, Mark Hoban.

During his visit, Mr Hoban saw the dining and leisure facility provided for the trainees as well as their accommodation and the Vocational Qualification Centre.

He also visited the Close Range Training section before attending the graduation ceremony for 42 trainees who completed their initial professional training course at the base.

After the ceremony, Mr Hoban, pictured above right, was given the opportunity to chat with the sailors and their families along with Commanding Officer of HMS Collingwood, Captain Steve Dainton CBE.

Mr Hoban said: ‘To be at the base and to understand more about the navy, what it does and how well it does it trains its people has been amazing.’
