TODAY new stone memorial panels will be officially unveiled as Portsmouth prepares for Armistice Day.

The names of 400 people who died in the First World War are set to be unveiled by campaigner Jean Louth, pictured, and leader of the city council Gerald Vernon-Jackson. They will be joined by commercial director at Wightlink Clive Tilley, whose company donated towards the names, and the Royal British Legion.

The unveiling will take place at the World War Two memorial, just off Guildhall Square, at 2.30pm.
