ROYAL Navy warship HMS Bulwark will dock in the City of London today after visiting Portsmouth last weekend.

The vessel, which spent three days in Portsmouth last week, will be moored at Greenwich for five days.

While in the capital, she will host visitors ranging from senior naval and Ministry of Defence officials, academics, business organisations, sea cadet units and London-based charities.

The main purpose of the visit is to display her capabilities in a demonstration on the River Thames tomorrow between 9am and 1pm.

It gives the ship the opportunity to show off her large variety of boats, land vehicles, amphibious landing craft and helicopters.

Bulwark’s Commanding Officer Captain Alex Burton, said: ‘HMS Bulwark is the country’s very own Swiss Army Knife. Totally indispensable and phenomenally versatile, she packs a punch with our embarked group of Royal Marines and delivers proven essential support to the softer humanitarian and disaster relief operations.’
