The Navy will play a key role in the funeral of Margaret Thatcher, it was confirmed today.

Sailors will join soldiers and airmen in a contingent of more than 700 armed forces personnel drawn from all three services, Downing Street said.

Lady Thatcher’s coffin will be carried into into St Paul’s Cathedral by bearers from units particularly associated with the Falklands War.
