YOUNG people are producing their own drama productions about the two world wars – but need the help of the older generation.

Members of Merchistoun Hall Youth Arts in Horndean are seeking memories and information about life during the war.

Lisa Clements, chairwoman of the group, said: ‘We are wanting to base the productions around the Horndean, Catherington, Clanfield and Rowlands Castle area from these times.

‘We are appealing for local people to help us find information and photographs that will give our young members some insight into life in the area during these times. It could include help from local people who lived here during the Second World War who may be able to come and talk to our younger group Footsteps as they are focusing their efforts on the Second World War.’

Local historians are asked to get in touch. The group is also looking for sponsorship.
