HUNGRY customers visiting a burger bar outside Portsmouth were in for a shock when this tank rolled up for lunch.

Two soldiers had been on a driving lesson in the 13.5-tonne Stormer with their instructor when they decided to stop for a bite to eat at Mick’s Monster Burgers, on Portsdown Hill.

Locals watched as the soldiers pulled up outside the eatery in the Army tank,
which is complete with eight missile launchers.

The vehicle is designed to counter low-flying attack helicopters.

The pair of soldiers, who are believed to be based at Whale Island had been on a week-long course which teaches them how to operate the 5.6m-long tank.

After a quick spot of maintenance on the warning beacon, and all fed the crew was off again to complete their lesson of the day.
