HUNTING submarines is not usually a task for a destroyer, given they usually keep their eyes on air defence.

But Portsmouth-based HMS Dragon snapped up the chance to train with nuclear submarine HMS Talent.

As both were working in the Eastern Mediterranean at the same time, they both practised advanced underwater training with Dragon given the task of tracking Talent down.

Sailors and submariners also had the chance to swap places. It was especially exciting for Dragon’s Leading Engineering Technician Stuart Williams, who met up with his submariner brother, Marine Engineer Submariner Michael Williams, for the first time in eight months.
