NAVY engineers have received top praise for their skills and determination while deployed.

The marine engineering department of HMS Northumberland received a Fleet Commander’s Commendation for their efforts on Operation Kipion.

The Plymouth-based Type-23 frigate was engaged in a range of maritime security operations, including counter-piracy, counter-narcotics and escort duties.

Vice-Admiral Ben Key presented the award.
