THE Princess Royal has inspected a 96-strong guard at HMS Sultan.

Princes Anne was guest of honour at the navy base, in Gosport, and gave out three awards at ceremonial divisions.

She addressed the sailors and Royal Marines Band Collingwood amassed on the parade ground.

She said: ‘As always it is so impressive to see so many of you on parade.

‘I don’t think there’s another naval establishment that can match the numbers on parade.’

Following the awards and inspection Princess Anne took the salute from the guard.
