NAVAL reservists stirred up the crowds with a flamboyant fitness routine at a major music festival.

Sailors from the Portsmouth-based HMS King Alfred took to the stage at Bestival alongside dance troupe Sink the Pink.

The 10 reservists were there in a bid to boost the profile of the reserve forces.

They performed a 20-minute fitness routine after marching on stage to Hearts of Oak.

Lieutenant Alan Bradley said: ‘Taking part in Bestival really was a once-in-a-lifetime event.

‘We’ve all got a good sense of humour and we gave it our best shot.

‘We were really excited about this opportunity to raise awareness of Portsmouth’s unit, HMS King Alfred.’
