A PETITION calling on the defence secretary not to allow any more naval ships to be named after the city of Plymouth has been signed by 200 people.

It has been launched because of the perceived lack of ‘interest’ in taking HMS Plymouth back to the city, following an on-going battle to keep the ship in the country.

The vessel is currently being taken to Turkey for scrapping, with campaigners trying to bring her back. To sign, visit tinyurl.com/pae377o.
