Youngsters got the chance to experience what it would be like to be a Royal Marine Commando for a day.

There were plenty of activities on offer at the Royal Marines Commando Action day, a family fun event at the Royal Marines Museum in Eastney.

On-the-day activities included assault course training, rock climbing, the opportunity to play laser quest and look at an inflatable weapons dome.

One of the highlights of the day for visitors was the tug of war competition, which pitted Royal Marines from around the UK against each other.

Children explored the military vehicles, watched dramatic live demonstrations of the Marines in action and got the chance to meet real Commandos to discover what it is like to wear the coveted Green Beret.
