Spitfires to take to the skies over Hampshire once more

SPITFIRES will once again be roaring over the skies of Hampshire as the iconic plane is set for yet another flypast in just over eight weeks.

The fighter plane, which flew over Portsmouth twice last week, will be part of the inaugural Broadlands Country Show in Romsey this May.

Spitfire fans will be treated to a two stunning aerobatic displays on each day of the two-day event, with daredevil pilots tackling a range of death-defying manoeuvres.

The action will be taking place on Sunday, May 1, and bank holiday Monday, May 2, at Broadlands House, Romsey.

The news comes after two flypasts at the weekend to mark the 80th anniversary of the aircraft’s maiden flight from Southampton Airport.

Organisers said it was too early to confirm the exact route the Spitfire will take and said this would be dependent on the weather.
