CHILDREN of men and women in the armed forces decorated cakes in the colours of the Union flag.
Service children at Crofton Hammond Infant School in Fareham took part in the activity, which was put on for Red, White and Blue Day.
The cakes were later sold to help raise money for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.
The charity’s fundraising co-ordinator Hilary Jukes was at the school to lend a hand to the children, aged five to seven.
Ms Jukes said: ‘It was particularly nice to spend time listening to the children and staff talk about what life is like for them while their parents or partners are away on duty.
‘That’s what today’s fundraising is all about – making those lives that little bit easier, and what better way to raise money than with cakes?’
