Since 2012, 14 Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxillary ships have been scrapped by LEYAL Ship Recycling Ltd, while only one has been disposed of in the UK during this time.

The most recent vessel to be sent to Turkey is the former HMS Illustrious, which left Portsmouth in December.

She is currently being ripped apart for scrap metal.
