THE USS George H W Bush has left Stokes Bay this morning.

The huge American aircraft carrier set off at about 10am today and could be seen passing Southsea seafront about 15 minutes later.

The stop-over has seen thousands of sailors coming ashore to take in the sights, bringing a major cash boost to the city.
