THREE German warships visiting the city on a brief stop during deployments will say farewell today.

FSG Karlsruhe, Hessen and Brandenburg arrived in Portsmouth on Thursday for a short visit.

The German flag flew from Semaphore Tower at Portsmouth Naval Base to welcome the three frigates and their sailors to the city.

The ships will sail again today. FGS Brandenburg was expected to
leave the harbour at 9am, followed by Hessen at 10.30am and Karlsruhe at midday.
