An Apache attack helicopter made a further simulated attack on the Type 23 frigate before an afternoon boarding tutorial, which taught the Kuwaiti Coast Guard how to conduct the latest board and search techniques.

The Portsmouth-based warship is in the middle of a six-month deployment to the Middle East.

Her mission is to carry out counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics and counter-piracy operations, working as part of combined maritime forces based in Bahrain.

The ship is due to return home to Portsmouth in December.
