A THREE-decade restoration project came to an end last night as a new sick bay was unveiled on HMS Warrior.

The new attraction is the final stage of a 32-year project to return the 150-year-old warship to her former glory at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

The sick berth, which is open to visitors today, was officially unveiled on live TV by presenters Dan Snow and Sian Williams, on the BBC programme National Treasures Live.

The Warrior was the world’s first iron-hulled, armoured warship, powered by steam as well as sail.
