THOSE who served in HMS York are being invited to bid her farewell on September 27.

The ship’s final Commanding Officer Cdr Rex Cox is inviting all ex-Yorkies to celebrate the destroyer’s achievements when she decommissions in Portsmouth.

A commemorative book is being produced to mark the passing of D98, featuring both her final ship’s company and the life and times of previous Yorkies and their deeds going back to commissioning in August 1985.
