AN AIRCRAFT engineer in Gosport has been given a top award.

AB Aircraft Engineering Technician (AET) Scott Grant, based at HMS Sultan, in Gosport, has been named young air engineer of the year.

He was given the award by the Telegraphist Air Gunners Association.

It comes after AB (AET) Grant scored a course average of 91.56 per cent in his Phase 2A training.

He also won trainee of the year during his Phase 2B training and won the highest overall marks in the Royal Naval Air Engineering and Survival Equipment School. He said: ‘I feel honoured and thrilled to receive the award.’
