COMMUTERS were delayed 
after a car crashed into a lamppost.

The accident happened just before 8am yesterday on the eastern carriageway of Western Road, at North Harbour, Cosham.

The driver of a silver Nissan lost control of their vehicle and collided with the lamppost.

The car hit it with such force it was knocked over and landed across the carriageway during rush hour.

Police closed the road and load delays ensued.

It reopened at 9.30am.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
