A PERSON with an eye for directing is needed for a new drama group starting in Denmead.

Sam Martin, an associate artist at the Theatre Royal, Winchester, is starting a Denmead Players Society.

Mr Martin said: ‘I’ve started running the Denmead Youth Theatre for the Theatre Royal this academic year and we’ve managed to more than double the numbers, split it into an older and younger group and start a street dance class.

‘All of these projects are going to be active in the Denmead community in the coming months and I’m proud of their progress.

‘I was surprised to find that there was no players or amateur dramatic society for Denmead with a theatre focus, especially with the number of adults in the area who have expressed an interest to me, so I’m hoping to start with a few smaller-scale performances before moving on to a panto before Christmas.’

He is seeking someone to help direct a performance of Cartwright’s Two.
