IT WAS a family affair at this year’s Swimathon.

Katie Ainsley, her husband Stewart, her dad Dave Holland and her sister Emma Glithro all took part in the Swimathon at Charter Community Sports Centre, Greetham Street, Southsea.

The group took on the Team 5k swim (3.1 miles) and managed to raise just over £300 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Katie, who lives in Southsea, said: ‘It was fairly difficult but I think we all found the training hardest.

‘We all swam occasionally but we really had to get into gear when we decided to enter.

‘We all wanted to beat my dad’s time but we couldn’t.

‘We all had a great time and really enjoyed it.’
