The lucky winner of a competition run by The News got the chance to have dinner with ex-Hollyoaks star Marcus Patric.

Marcus, who grew up in Gosport, is best known for playing the role of Ben Davies in the Channel 4 teen soap.

But last week he took time out to come home for Christmas and have dinner with competition winner Sue Bartlett, 65, and her daughter Mandie, 32.

They had dinner in Tiger Tiger, in Gunwharf Quays.

Sue, of Hurstville Drive, Waterlooville, said: 'We had a very pleasant evening and the food and drink was really lovely.

'Marcus was really easy to talk to.

'We spoke about how he got into Hollyoaks, how he found 71 Degrees North and, with him being a local lad, we spoke about him growing up in Gosport.

'It was such a nice evening.'
